Cured (306 Pearl Pkwy., Suite 101, 210-314-3929) fans won’t be surprised to learn that chef/owner/Paella Challenge winner Steve McHugh can now add “James Beard Award Finalist” to his business card.
McHugh joins chefs Andrew Weissman and Bruce Auden in this exclusive circle of SA chefs nominated as finalists.
The awards ceremony, known as the Oscars of food, announced the finalists for this year’s awards gala. Among the finalists for the Best Chef Southwest category are Cured’s McHugh, Austin’s Bryce Gilmore (Barley Swine); Houston’s Hugo Ortega (Caracol) and Justin Yu (Oxheart) and finally Denver’s Alex Seidel (Fruition).
