Mere days before Morrissey is expected to play his — rescheduled — San Antonio show on Saturday, Jan. 10, the British crooner has postponed yet another date on this tour.
The former Smiths frontman’s reshuffled performance was expected to take place Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California. No rescheduled date has been provided.
So far, Boeing Center at Tech Port hasn’t announced the postponement or cancellation of the Alamo City date, which was rescheduled from May 8, 2025. If Moz cancels or postpones, this will be the fifth time in a row he’s stood up San Antonio.
Nothing has been announced on Morrissey’s official social media yet, which hasn’t been updated since December 24. However, the artist’s website confirms the postponement.
“Due to an adverse reaction to a prescription medication, the Morrissey concert originally scheduled on Saturday January 3, 2026 has been postponed,” the official event’s ticket link reads.
Insert eye roll here.
“Please hold onto your tickets as they will be honored for a rescheduled date. Should you request a refund, please contact your original point of purchase,” the freshly updated Rancho Mirage event text added. However, text underneath says “NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES.” How like the mercurial music man to send mixed signals.
This postponement leaves only one tour date between Rancho Mirage and San Antonio, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 6, in San Diego.
Morrissey has complained for years that no label is willing to put out his latest record, Bonfire of Teenagers, due to his controversial status as a free speech warrior who likes to spout off far-right rhetoric.
However, right before Christmas, his fortunes seem to have changed. Moz revealed the tracklist for a different upcoming LP You’re Right, It’s Time.
It appears the album will be released by punk and new wave label Sire Records, which has also signed the Ramones, the Dead Boys, Talking Heads, The Cure, Madonna, Soft Cell, Seal, Echo & The Bunnymen, Ministry, k.d. lang and more. Morrissey’s former band The Smiths was also signed to Sire at one point.
Morrissey announced his agreement with the label in typically mercurial fashion, simply posting the Sire logo to his blog on Dec. 19, followed by the upcoming LP’s tracklist on Christmas Eve.
However, while new music might be close to becoming a reality, Morrissey’s average of tour cancellations is once again abysmal on this tour. The singer cancelled 50% of his 2025 dates, including the entirety of the tour’s South American leg, due to “extreme exhaustion.” He also scrapped dates in Istanbul, Boston, Salt Lake City, Athens, Bucharest, Stockholm and more.
Like the Jan. 10 show in San Antonio, Saturday’s postponed Rancho Mirage show was already a rescheduled date — that one of an Oct. 24, 2025 show at the Coachella-area casino.
