Morrissey kicked off a United States tour in late April, with a show scheduled for San Antonio on Thursday, May 8. However, the crooner has postponed the past two concerts citing health issues, causing some locals to speculate whether Moz will leave San Antonio hanging once more.

Morrissey is scheduled to play a sold out show at the Boeing Center at Tech Port this Thursday. However, the singer postponed last Thursday’s show in San Diego, followed by Saturday’s show at Rancho Mirage casino in California.

The former Smiths frontman cited a “severe sinusitis attack” as the reason for the postponements, according to a report by online music publication Consequence of Sound.

Team Moz said in a Facebook post that the tour would resume Monday with a show Tucson, Arizona.

If he does cancel or postpone Thursday’s San Antonio date, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time. In 2017, he cancelled three San Antonio dates in only 6 months, as reported by music blog Slicing Up Eyeballs.

Last year, Moz reportedly cancelled more than one-third of his dates. In 2023, he averaged a 28% cancellation rate. In 2022, that rate was 40%.

With a cancellation rate that averages around 30% in recent years, the question remains for many locals whether this charming man is worth the gamble.

Morrissey’s most recent album I am Not a Dog on a Chain, was released in 2020.

The singer says “nobody” will release his new music, including long-shelved album Bonfire of Teenagers, due to attacks on him as a “chief exponent of free speech” in the United Kingdom, Consequence reported.

Morrissey has frequently generated headlines in recent years for anti-immigrant and anti-Me Too comments, as well as open support for the far right political movement For Britain.
