Cirque du Soleil is returning to San Antonio this fall with OVO, which explores the hidden world of insects through dizzying acrobatics, evocative music and imaginative set design.

The award-winning contemporary circus company will bring the show to Frost Bank Center for five performances running Thursday, Sept. 25-Sunday, Sept. 28, according to venue officials. The Montreal-based group last performed in San Antonio in 2023.

OVO brings together more than 50 acrobats and musicians to depict the activity of an insect colony. Although the show debuted 15 years ago, Cirque du Soleil will present an overhauled version that includes reimagined set design, new acrobatic feats, updated costumes, original characters and a reinvented musical score, organizers said.

General tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31 via FrostBankCenter and Ticketmaster.com. Presale access is available to those who sign up for Frost Bank Center’s All Access Newsletter and select the “Family Shows” genre.

Since its creation more than 40 years ago, Cirque du Soleil has entertained 400 million people on six continents. The touring organization employs more than 4,000 people, including 1200 artists from 80 nationalities.

Ticket prices unavailable, 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25-Friday, Sept. 26, 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 and 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, Frost Bank Center, 1 Frost Bank Center Dr., (210) 444-5000, frostbankcenter.com.
