The San Antonio Zoo is hosting a gender reveal party this week for Tupi, the first capybara born at the attraction in more than two decades.

The party will get underway at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the zoo’s capybara exhibit, which is located next to the Aussie Snack area. The event is included with standard admission and is free for San Antonio Zoo membership holders.

Tupi — pronounced “two-pee” — was born on Dec 3. to parents Luna and Neville, marking the first time a capybara has been born at the San Antonio Zoo since 2000, officials said in a statement.

Since then, the curious and cuddly-looking Tupi has taken social media by storm, racking up hundreds of thousands of likes and views via viral videos.

Indeed, Tupi has garnered such a following that he was recently featured in the New York Times.

Native to South America, Capybaras are the world’s largest rodents. They’re also social creatures living in herds as large as 100 members.
