San Antonio Spur Mamukelashvili knocks down NBA record 34 points as Flavor Flav cheers him on

San Antonio Spur Sandro Mamukelashvili is apparently just as dumbfounded as everyone else over his history-making 34-point run in Wednesday game against the New Your Knicks.

Cheered on by pal Flavor Flav of iconic hip-hop group Public Enemy, Mamukelashvili broke the NBA record for scoring the most points in a game in fewer than 20 minutes. The forward made his career high in just 19 minutes.

“I don’t know what fucking happened,” Mamukelashvili said, according to an ESPN report. “I don’t know what fucking happened.”

Beyond his record number of points in Wednesday’s matchup, Mamukelashvili is only the fourth player in NBA history to shoot 90% from the field, 100% for 3-pointers and 100% for free throws in a single game, according to ESPN research.

The 25-year-old came to the Spurs in 2023 after two years with the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s been friends with Flav since meeting the rapper at the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League as a rookie, the Express-News reports.

“I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time,” Mamu also told ESPN. “I just can’t explain how I feel right now. I feel like I’m in a dream. I manifested and prayed for it. I just waited for this day. I really had an out of body experience for a little bit there. I was like, ‘Is this really happening?'”
Mamu’s on-fire performance wasn’t the only thing the Spurs were reportedly excited about, though.

Music-loving Spurs power forward Jeremy Sochan jokingly asked whether the team can “get Flavor Flav” to stay in the Alamo City, according to ESPN’s report.
