Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will not travel with the team to Los Angeles or Houston for upcoming games against the Clippers on Monday and Rockets on Wednesday due to an undisclosed illness, according to media reports.
ESPN reports Popovich, 75, missed the team’s Saturday win against the Minnesota Timberwolves following a “health situation” and will be out indefinitely.
Assistant coach Mitch Johnson is expected to lead the team in Popovich’s absence. This will be the third time Johnson has taken over for Popovich, according to the Associated Press.
