The San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday revealed that Paris-based crypto security firm Ledger will be the team’s new jersey patch sponsor.
The new sponsorship will replace the team’s deal with Austin-based Self Financial, whose logo has graced the Silver and Black’s jerseys since 2022.
“This moment cements a decades-long history of international collaboration and growth by the Spurs organization, as the game of basketball has grown to touch every culture and continent,” RC Buford, CEO of Spurs Sports & Entertainment said during a press conference at Frost Bank Center.
The Spurs — among the first NBA teams to lean into international scouting as a viable option — are only the fourth league franchise to partner with a foreign-based company for a jersey sponsorship agreement.
“The San Antonio Spurs, at the heart of America in Texas, is the future of the league, growing their fandom rapidly, and the most international team the NBA has to offer,” Ledger Chairman and CEO Pascal Gauthier said. “Our multi-year partnership is one of many major milestones in 2025, a year that will go down in history as the inception of a new era of Ledger.”
Ledger was founded in Paris a decade ago and specializes in handheld crypto wallets as well as cyber security.
Other than sponsoring a patch on the Spurs’ jerseys, Ledger also will support the team’s global community-impact efforts, including the Spurs Play Paris multi-year court renovation initiative and the Spurs Tech & Basketball Camp, which uses sports and technology applications to engage school-aged participants between 10 and 14 years old.
The Spurs will wear the new Ledger-sponsored jerseys during Wednesday’s NBA Draft along with subsequent Summer League games.
