Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) officials said Monday that Toyota Field will undergo $1 million in renovations before the start of San Antonio FC’s upcoming 10th anniversary season.
The renovations to the soccer factory facility are planned to enhance the fan experience, according to SS&E. They will include addition of a state-of-the-art video board at the stadium’s north concourse, reinforced front-row rails and new Bermuda grass on the pitch.
“These updates will help maintain our stadium as one of the premier facilities in the USL and attract more world-class events, bringing soccer fans from all across the globe to the city of San Antonio,” the ownership group said in a statement.
Other enhancements that will benefit players include new sideline benches and renovated locker rooms, including the addition of a coach’s office space in the visitor’s locker room.
San Antonio FC’s season will get underway Saturday, March 8, in a matchup against Monterey Bay FC.
