It’s murder on the dance floor this spooky season at San Antonio nightspot WKND.
Throughout the month of October, the dance club will host a Freddy Krueger-themed pop-up bar called “Nightmare on Main Street.” The joke works because the club is located on Main Avenue — close enough for the neighborhood, linguistically speaking.
Decor at WKND will feature a look straight out of a horror movie, including a jack-o’-lantern disco ball and Nightmare on Elm Street-themed decor. A rotation of local DJs, including DJ HI-C, DJ Ultrasonic and DJ Cobweb will provide on-theme jams.
Drinks will be discounted at $3, $4 and $5. The club is 21-and-up only, and there’s no cover.
Other Saytown clubs have also stepped up their Halloween game.
Three Star Bar will once again be one of 30-plus cities nationwide to host the “Black Lagoon” pop-up, featuring spooky decor and themed drinks. For the second year, Be Kind & Rewind will host “The Horror Section” pop-up, which will include costume contests, photo ops and roaming monsters on the dance floor.
No cover, 21-and-up, 9 p.m.-2 a.m. Thursdays-Sundays, Oct. 1-31, 1524 N. Main Ave., (210) 263-9036, wkndsatx.com,
