Fans of San Antonio native Carol Burnett will be able to catch the funnywoman back in her hometown for a special performance.
Burnett will host “An Evening of Laughter and Reflection” at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Audience members will be able to ask Burnett questions about her life and decade-spanning career. The comedian will also show clips from her TV variety show The Carol Burnett Show, which aired from 1967 to 1978.
“I love the spontaneity of these evenings,” Burnett said via press release. “I never know what anyone is going to ask, or say, or do, so it keeps me on my toes.”
Locals will undoubtedly ask questions about her growing up in San Antonio. Burnett lived with her grandmother on the West Side, attending Crockett Elementary until she was seven years old. In the past, she has spoken fondly of skating around her grandmother’s house. Today, her childhood home serves as a literacy center founded by former Mayor Henry Cisneros.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. and range from $69.50 to $197.50.
