Texas Original, one of three approved medical cannabis suppliers in the Lone Star State, has opened its first temporary pickup location in New Braunfels.

Located at 1433 Hanz Drive, Suite 110, the spot will operate 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesdays, allowing patients enrolled in the state’s medical marijuana program to pick up Texas Original gummies, balms, tinctures and other products, company officials said.

Texas Original also is extending the operating hours of its first permanent pickup spot in San Antonio, 1464 Austin Highway, Suite 104. The storefront, launched last spring, now serves patients 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Under Texas’ medical marijuana program — one of the nation’s most restrictive — approved providers can’t store cannabis products overnight except at their corporate headquarters, requiring the businesses to operate pickup locations in markets they want to serve.

Texas Original now operates 19 permanent and temporary pickup spots statewide, officials said.

“Each time we open our doors in a new location, it’s another promise kept to Texans seeking relief with medical cannabis,” Texas Original CEO Nico Richardson said in an emailed statement. “These pickup locations are critical anchors for patients to ensure they can reliably access their medicine with as few obstacles as possible.”
