Downtown San Antonio’s St. Anthony Hotel has revealed the new food and beverage concept that will replace Haunt, the property’s recently shuttered cocktail lounge.

Anacacho Coffee & Cantina — a new bar and lounge overseen by chef Leo Davila, formerly of San Antonio’s Stixs & Stone — will hold its grand opening Friday, May 9, according to hotel officials. The dining spot, located 300 E. Travis, will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Davila previously told the Current he plans to offer an array of new menu items along with signature favorites from his flagship eatery, including a Big Red-and-barbacoa taco recognized last year on Texas Monthly’s 50 Best Tacos in Texas list. Other dishes will include Mexican-style street corn and bao buns with three types of fillings — pork belly, fried chicken and barbacoa — according to the St. Anthony.

Drink highlights will pay homage to Anacacho’s namesake — the historic Anacacho Ranch in West Texas. Cocktails on the menu will include the aptly named Anacacho ranch water, a wildflower aperitif, the St. Anthony Old Fashioned and the Alamo City Southside cocktail.

The hotel has partnered with local roaster Pulp Coffee for specialty brews on its morning menu, which will offer standard and specialty coffee options from iced lattes to cortados. The breakfast menu also will include a variety of grab-and-go bites such as house-made pastries and egg sandwiches.

San Antonio-based HGTV host Kim Wolfe (
Why the Heck Did I Buy This House) oversaw the redesign of the 1,100-square-foot-space, according to St. Anthony officials.

Anacacho will be open 6 a.m.-11 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m.-midnight on weekends. The bar and lounge hasn’t posted a full menu as of press time.
