Fans of Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão won’t have to battle downtown parking garages the next time a craving for all-you-can-eat meat hits.

The Dallas-based chain has quietly opened a second San Antonio location on the North Side.

The new Fogo is located at 5546 N. Loop 1604 West, Suite 160, near La Cantera, according to an
online company bulletin. The restaurant is inside same food-and-drink hub as a Pappadeaux, a Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen and a Rock & Brews.

Fogo de Chão teased plans for a second Alamo City location early last year but offered no firm timetable or location. At the time, it appeared the new eatery was part of an aggressive company expansion that included both stateside and international stores.

The North Side Fogo will feature an open churrasco grill, which allows guests to observe chefs in action from 360 degrees as they prepare meat, according to details shared by the chain. The new location also will include a seasonal market table, dry-aged meat lockers and a Bar Fogo focused on serving guests wanting smaller bites and beverages.

The North Side store will have the same all-day Saturday and Sunday happy hour specials as the one downtown. Those deals include $5 beers, $8 South American wines and $10 Brazilian-inspired cocktails.

Both San Antonio Fogo will offer dinner pricing from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Father’s Day, June 15. Brunch items will be available 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
