San Antonio Asian-fusion restaurant Best Quality Daughter is known for delicious and surprising flavor blends — and now its owner and chef has helped a fast-food giant remix one of its menu favorites.

BQD’s Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin is behind a remake of Taco Bell’s Crunchwrap Supreme. Her creation, called the Crispy Thai Noodle Crunchwrap Supreme, is filled with marinated chicken in a khao soi aioli with crunchy wheat noodles, reduced fat sour cream, fresh onion, cilantro and an avocado-basil ranch.

In February, Taco Bell named Dobbertin as an inaugural member of its TBX program, which engages emerging chefs to come up with innovative takes on the chain’s menu items.

Though Dobbertin is a San Antonio chef, the chain says it may be a while until her item is available at any of the area’s 40-plus Taco Bell locations.

The fast-food business plans to test the Thai-inspired Crunchwrap’s popularity at pop-ups in New York City before it becomes widely available. Dobbertin is currently in the Big Apple to attend the popups in person.
