A Monte Vista pizza joint famous for lines that often curl around the side of its building is evolving from a first-come, first-served counter model into an online reservation-and-pickup service, its owners revealed online.
“Starting May 14th, we will be moving to full service,” Lovers Pizzeria posted last week on Instagram. “We will be doing reservations/limited walk-ins and will have online ordering for to-go pizzas!
Beloved for its coal-oven style New York-style pies, including a poblano-topped signature model, Lovers has attracted fans willing to brave long waits and early sellouts since relocating to its current Monte Vista digs in early 2025.
The shop is owned by Dusty Dworak and Victoria Moreno, who started the business on the South Side before jumping to the current location.
“We truly never expected to have the line like we do, and while it’s been amazing, it’s time for something new,” the Instagram post said. “This will hopefully give everyone a better experience at Lovers.”
