Crust Pizza Co., a Texas chain known for Chicago-style pies, is opening three stores in the San Antonio area, the San Antonio Business Journal reports.
Franchisees for the Houston-area company held the grand opening last weekend for their first Crust Pizza at 813 Cibolo Valley Drive, Suite 170, in Cibolo’s Buffalo Heights retail center, according to the publication.
The Houston-based franchisee group also has a second location in the works at Stone Oak Mercantile, a mixed-use development under construction in North San Antonio, partner Jay Tompkins told the Business Journal. The group also is eyeing Boerne for a third.
“We would be happy to do more. We’ll see once we get past three,” Tompkins said. “If the franchise owner wants to sort of make us exclusive for San Antonio or wait on us, that’s fine, but there may end up being another franchisee or two.”
Crust Pizza also operates a restaurant in New Braunfels at 2955 Town Center Drive, Suite 400.
The 14-year-old chain’s menu includes a variety of specialty pies and an abundance of toppings for build-your-own pizzas. Its stores also offer flatbread sandwiches, pasta and salads along with beer and wine.
Crust Pizza and its franchisees operate 35 stores, mostly in Texas with a smattering in Louisiana, according to its website. Another seven, including the Stone Oak unit, are listed as opening soon.
