Stone Oak brunch staple Full Belly Cafe + Bar closed on July 1, owner Blade Haddock told the Express-News.

The dining spot at 427 N Loop 1604 West, Suite 202, opened in 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and weathered a series of closures and re-openings, including a brief expansion to a second location in Olmos Park, which also is shuttered, the daily reports.

Along the way, Full Belly built a following for its ambitious yet comforting brunch and lunch fare, which ranged from buckwheat pancakes and chorizo-poblano hash to pecan pie French toast.

Haddock told the Express-News he’s working to bring back the concept late next year in a different location. He added that he wants to revamp so the new location can fulfill its original plan to be an all-day café and bistro.

Due to pandemic-related staffing challenges, Full Belly pared back its hours to strictly focus on brunch and lunch, according to the daily.
