Pearl-area burgers, beer and live music destination Smash’d will spend $200,000 on an expansion that will double its size, state regulatory filings show.
The restaurant filed this week with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to start work on a project that will add 1,200 square feet to its already 1,000-square-foot layout. Work is expected to begin Aug. 1 and wrap up in late November, according to the document.
“The San Antonio community has shown their appreciation through continued growth in new and repeat customers and Smash’d is responding with an exciting expansion that will increase interior and exterior space as well as our ability to serve a larger audience with an expanded kitchen,” restaurant owners Rick Greenfield and Erin Tireman told online news site MySA in a written statement.
Smash’d opened in 2024, taking over the space previously occupied by tiki-inspired drinkery Hello Paradise and burgers-and-hot dogs concept Summer Camp, neither of which was in business long.
The burger spot is known for its beefy burgers, grilled burritos, cocktails and wide selection of craft beers. It also regularly features live music on its outdoor patio.
