Applications have again opened for the annual Spurs Culinary Residency, a program that gives local restaurants a shot at feeding thousands of fans during the NBA team’s games at Frost Bank Center.
Spurs Sports & Entertainment and Aramark are seeking 12 homegrown food concepts for the program’s sixth year, which will run during the 2026-27 NBA season. They’re seeking local chefs to bring their signature dishes to dedicated concession stands inside the arena.
Online applications are live through midnight Tuesday, Aug. 4.
Restaurants picked for the residency receive two locations inside Frost Bank Center, where they’ll serve up menu items for up to nine home games. The setup is designed to boost exposure for local chefs while giving fans easier access to the flavors that define the San Antonio dining scene.
“San Antonio’s local restaurants are part of what makes our community so unique, and we’re proud to continue creating opportunities to celebrate them,” said Casey Heverling, SS&E’s senior vice president of venue strategy and fan experience, in an emailed statement.
A total of 45 San Antonio-area restaurants have participated in the program since its 2021 launch. In addition to game-day visibility, the incubator features professional development opportunities led by SS&E. Participating owners and their businesses also will be spotlighted on Spurs TV broadcasts.
Last season’s culinary lineup included Alamo City favorites Wing Theory, Sari-Sari Filipino Restaurant, Krazy Katsu and more. The mix reflected the program’s ongoing commitment to highlight both longtime SA faves and rising newcomers.
Restaurants selected for the 2026-27 season will collaborate with SS&E and Aramark to adapt their menu for high-volume service while maintaining their original flavor and spark. For many small businesses, the residency is a rare chance to refine operations and build brand recognition for a crowd of tens of thousands of fans, SS&E officials added.
