Canadian donuts-and-coffee chain Tim Horton’s isn’t wasting any time staking out territory in San Antonio.
Just three months after revealing plans to open its first Alamo City location at 2919 N. Loop 1604 East inside Redland Plaza, the company has informed Texas regulators of plans to build a second north of the Windcrest area.
Work on the next San Antonio Tim Horton’s, located at 14076 Nacogdoches Road, will get underway next month with completion scheduled for November, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The construction project is expected to run $600,000.
Essentially synonymous with present-day Canadian culture, the Tim Horton’s chain was founded in 1964 by the hockey great of the same name. In recent years, it’s added roughly 1,000 U.S. locations to the 4,000 in has dotting Canada.
Tim Horton’s menu items range from Timbits — its take on donut holes — and classic pastries to bagels and savory lunch items.
Before expanding into San Antonio, the chain Texas stores were clustered in Austin, Bryan and the greater Houston area.
