Holiday pop-up bar Peppermint Peak has taken over the the rooftop bar at the River Walk’s InterContinental Hotel, bringing with it festive decor, seasonal cocktails and fireside s’mores.

For the pop-up, the hotel’s High Praise drinkery — which includes both indoor and outdoor seating — will be decked with “pink peppermint-themed holiday decor, twinkling lights, feathered festoons and chalet-inspired comforts,” according to organizers.

Though there isn’t a snowy peak anywhere near San Antonio, holiday music from dueling DJs will further add to the aprés-ski ambiance.

Artisanal cocktails will lend even more holiday cheer with seasonal ingredients and names inspired by famous Christmas movies, according to organizers.

The Son of a Nutcracker, inspired by Elf, will feature Botanist Gin, raspberry syrup, lemon and foamer. Ya Filthy Animal, a nod to Home Alone, centers on Susto Mezcal, with Cointreau, a Tajin rim, orange juice and lemon juice.

Two drinks inspired by Love Actually seem poised to steal the show, however. The Hoping to be Kissed is a warm cocktail served in a cozy mug containing Jameson, espresso, heavy whipped cream and flamed cinnamon. Another tipple named for one of the movie’s most romantic lines, To Me You Are Perfect, contains Don Q Coco Rum, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, prosecco and passionfruit puree. The cocktails will be complimented by a limited menu of seasonal desserts, including a pumpkin-spice tres leches cake and a brownie tart dusted with powdered white chocolate. The featured sweet is an elevated take on the s’more with a black-tea sable cookie, charred orange marshmallow, cranberry compote and dark chocolate.

The Peppermint Peak pop-up will run through Dec. 27 at InterContinental Hotel, 111 E. Pecan Street.
