San Antonio’s homegrown Mr. C’s Chicken & Waffles chain is preparing to spread its wings yet again.
The comfort food favorite will launch third outpost on the Far West Side at 12922 Potranco Road #122 next year, with construction expected to finish in February, state records show. The Current also confirmed the news with a Mr. C’s Chicken & Waffles manager.
The Southern-style eatery currently has two locations at 7907 W. Loop 1604 North #102 and 7525 N. Loop 1604. It hasn’t yet set a grand opening date for the new far West Side location.
Couple Benny and Lisa Costello folded Mr C’s Chicken & Waffles in 2018. The Costellos are known for launching and growing Tia’s Taco Hut, a Tex-Mex chain that’s expanded to multiple locations.
Mr. C’s keeps it simple when it comes to the menu, which is largely comprised of chicken-and-waffle combos along with classic Southern breakfast dishes and entrees. There’s also a selection of classic sandwiches and burgers. In keeping with its down-home approach, no dish is priced higher than $20.
