Reservation app OpenTable has ranked San Antonio’s Signature at La Cantera as one of 2024’s Top 100 Restaurants.
Signature, overseen by chef John Carpenter and sous chef Jaime Torres, is known for serving Texas cuisine with a French flair. Its seasonal dishes include Axis venison, Spanish octopus and Australian Wagyu coulotte, among others.
Open Table created its best-of list by analyzing the number of reservations made at restaurants using its platform and the reviews left by hungry patrons.
In its writeup of Signature, the platform praised the dining spot for its deft handling of fresh and seasonal ingredients.
“Gulf seafood conspires with Atlantic Coast oysters flown in fresh, and the Hill Country is well-represented year-round,” the restaurant’s OpenTable profile says. “Local and organic ingredients change the menu as the seasons peak and wane, but the constants are quality, flavor, artistry in the kitchen, and a warm welcome when you walk in the door.”
The Michelin-recommended restaurant was one of 10 Texas eateries to make the cut with OpenTable. The others are:
- Aba, Austin
- Hudson House, Dallas
- J Carvers Oyster Bar & Chophouse, Austin
- Jeffrey’s Restaurant, Austin
- Red Ash Italia, Austin
- Sammie’s Italian, Austin
- Steak 48, Houston
- Uchi, Austin
- Uchiko, Austin
