One cheese is not enough.
It may be National Grilled Cheese Day today, but its also National Grilled Cheese MONTH. Soak that in for a minute….and then get in the kitchen and make these two ridiculously tasty and almost too cheesy (is there such a thing?) creations.
Margherita Grilled Cheese (modified from Host the Toast)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 slices bread of choice
1/4 cup pizza sauce
3 slices mozzarella
3 basil leaves, cut into ribbons
Half of a small garlic clove
Heat olive oil in a medium fry pan over medium heat. (I like to toast the bread slightly before adding ingredients.) Spread half the pizza sauce over each bread slice. Add mozzarella and basil. Heat the sandwich until the cheese is gooey, about 2 minutes per side.
Grilled Cheese X 3
1 tablespoon butter
2 slices bread of choice
2 slices muenster
1 slice cheddar
2 tablespoons blue cheese
Heat butter in a medium fry pan over medium heat. (Again, toasting is up to you.) Layer the cheeses. I sandwiched the cheddar and blue cheese between the creamy muenster. Heat until cheese is gooey, about 3 minutes per side.
