More than seven years after Avengers: Endgame brought Marvel’s Infinity Saga to a close, the franchise is rallying Earth’s Mightiest Heroes again.
Marvel Studios dropped the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday on Monday morning, sending fans in San Antonio and around the globe into a frenzy. Within four hours, the clip racked up more than 13 million views online.
The film reunites Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo behind the camera and brings back Robert Downey Jr. — not as Tony Stark, but as the franchise’s next big bad, Doctor Doom.

The trailer teases an all-out collision between the New Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the beloved 2000s-era X-Men. Highlights include Shang-Chi squaring off against Gambit, a shaken Thor warning his allies of the looming threat and, in one of the trailer’s biggest reveals, Chris Evans appears to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Steve Rogers.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters Friday, Dec. 18, but fans don’t have to wait until then to make plans. Advance tickets went on sale Monday, and moviegoers have already begun snapping up opening-night seats at San Antonio theaters including Santikos Palladium and Alamo Drafthouse.
