Chicago-based Born of Osiris will bring its blend of jackhammer metalcore and prog-rock dynamics to San Antonio later this month.

The band, touring behind last year’s The Eternal Reign album, uses keyboards to add atmosphere and dense orchestration to a sound based in punishing thrash. It’s also in the final stages of recording its fifth LP, so there may be some live previews.

Tyler, Texas’ Fit for a King and Tuscaloosa, Ala.’s Gideon, both tapping a similar sonic vein, will round out the bill.

$18-$21, Sat May 19, 5:30pm, Alamo City Music Hall, 1305 E. Houston St., alamocitymusichall.com.
