Apparently the “No New Friends” rapper doesn’t follow his own advice, as Toronto native Drake is ready to get chummy with Kawhi Leonard.
Following the Spurs trading Leonard to the Toronto Raptors, the internet has been flooded with Drake-inspired memes about the move. But the rapper spoke for himself on Wednesday, saying an emotional goodbye to DeMar DeRozan, who made the franchise stronger in recent years.
More interesting (for most), Drake also welcomed Leonard to the team.
To Kawhi…we look forward to a this new chapter and we welcome you to the most intense and supportive city in NBA basketball!!! You have always been a poised clinical warrior and I can’t wait to see how Toronto inspires your fight. Let’s Go Raptors.
