After nearly three-and-a-half decades of releasing no-fucks-given, groove-heavy tunes, the Melvins have announced a return to San Antonio for a show at Paper Tiger on Tuesday, October 29.

Hailing from the birthplace of Kurt Cobain — Aberdeen, Washington — the Melvins were the Pacific Northwest’s answer to the hardcore punk explosions happening further down the West Coast. Only way more slow and sludgy.

And what separated the Melvins from literally every other band of its era, was frontman Buzz Osborne’s unflinching desire to write whatever the fuck he wanted rather than succumb to any pressure from labels wanting to mold the band to their liking. This attitude and integrity has won the outfit a cult-like following over the years.

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased here.
