Editor’s note: This story was later edited to reflect final vote counts, and correct the number of incumbents who won their seats.
Five of six incumbents running for reelection to San Antonio City Council survived Saturday’s contest and will be back for another term.
Only District 1’s Sukh Kaur failed to grab more than 50% of the vote, meaning she’ll face off against conservative Patty Gibbons in the June 7 runoff.
Meanwhile, only one of the candidates running for an empty seat, District 4’s Edward Mungia, received more than 50% of the vote. That means the contests to represent districts 6, 8 and 9 all head to a the runoff.
