The rockets’ red glare may be a familiar sight over Bexar County on the Fourth of July, but the county doesn’t want to witness the sight over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Bexar County has banned both the sale and use of fireworks it classifies as “skyrockets with sticks” and “missiles with fins,” the Express-News reports. It enacted the temporary ban to avoid fire risks amid extreme drought conditions blanketing the area.

The order is effective immediately, and it will remain place for 90 days, according to the daily. Those caught selling or using the fireworks will face class C misdemeanor charges, which include fines of up to $500.
