A social media clip of a multi-county high-speed chase through the San Antonio area Thursday has gone viral.
In the one-minute long video, suspect Audrey Marie Schneider, 37, smiles and laughs while being taken into police custody. At another point in the footage, Schneider appears to be holding a beverage while being pursued by a parade of police vehicles.
The clip posted on social media platform X by @DallasTexasTV has garnered nearly 9,000 likes and more than 1.5 million views as of press time.
“Gotta admire that positive attitude the whole way through,” X user @leslie59904273 commented. “Or the really strong buzz.”
X user @oscvr_of chimed in, writing: “This is the new High Noon Seltzer commercial.”
The wild pursuit kicked off around 2 p.m. when a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper attempted to pull over Schneider on I-35 in Comal County, News4SA reports.
Instead of stopping her car, Schneider accelerated, leading police on a high-speed chase through Comal and Bexar counties, according to the TV station.
Schneider hit several cars during the chase, including the trooper’s vehicle, before the pursuit ended in the Alamo Quarry Market parking lot, News4SA also reports.
Schneider, who DPS believes was intoxicated at the time of the incident, is facing several felony and misdemeanor charges, KENS5 reports.
