IKEA will soon break ground on its Live Oak location now that a contractor has been chosen to manage the project.
According to a press release, Tribble & Stephens will begin construction in spring 2018. They hope to have the store completed by summer 2019.
The Live Oak location is a gargantuan 289,000 square-f00t building that’s easily* accessible from I-35 and Loop 1604. Until it opens in 2019, San Antonians can get their IKEA fix at their other stores in Houston or Round Rock. Unless you’re in for a road trip to Frisco or Grand Prairie.
*Nothing is ever really “easily” accessible from I-35 or Loop 1604.
