Hola San Antonio!
Feels good to be back. After being gone for a couple of years, I’ve realized how much this place grows on you.
To the point where you find yourself in a New York City bar as the lone (and loud) Spurs fan as Manu and company take down the Knicks. Not expecting any such troubles now that I’m back in the friendly confines of the Alamo City.
So, what did I miss?
As I get caught up, please chime in to let us know how you think the Current is doing in covering the city and its people. Not saying that just to sound nice. I’d truly like to know. But please don’t just point out problems – it’d be great if you’d also offer ideas and solutions. I certainly hope that’s what we’ll get out of the new community advisory board we’re forming.
I’m particularly interested in what you think of not just the free print issue we offer you weekly, but also your take on our online content. Making the most of our digital and social media presence is one of our top priorities. We’ll still seek to remain uniquely irreverent – just giving you much more of it beyond the traditional printed issue.
But we don’t want it to be a one-way thing. We’d like to bring you along for the ride. So, for example, we may post several cover possibilities and have you weigh in on which one you like the most.
What’s for sure is that we won’t get far on this mission if you don’t hop on board. Please do. Your engagement is up to you – send us a tweet @SACurrent, post a comment on our Facebook page or even give me a good ol’ phone call.
I’ll take it. All I ask is that you keep it constructive! Hating just to be a hater doesn’t bode well for good dialogue.
So, thanks again for welcoming me back, San Anto. And double thanks for keeping your Current as an important and relevant part of this city.

i would love to hear more about woman’s sports in the area. Roller derby, football, ect. There is plenty of sports for men but what about us women?!
I love trying the different restaurants that have been visited by Current. Not sure if this is a function that already happens but it would be awesome for readers that go to covered restaurants to add their experience aside from in the comments area. Ex: most popular places based on readers. Is this already happeni by & I’m super clueless???
As the E-N devolves into a dumbed-down BuzzFeed, The Current is more vital than ever. You now have the opportunity to become the “paper” of record for our great city. My advice? Become the most respected journalists in town. Always doublecheck your sources, and edit responsibly. Expose corruption, demand accountability, and never stop reporting on delicious tacos.
