As reported in this week’s Queque, City Attorney Michael Bernard made good on his promise to quickly address the City’s Parade Ordinance, which was put in time out last month by U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez, who found a few of its provisions unconstitutional. Tomorrow, City Council will peruse, discuss, and perhaps vote on a revised version of the ordinance that, among other things, purports to create objective guidelines for assessing parade permit fees.

But the plaintiffs who brought suit against the City over that issue and other shortcomings say the redress falls far short of a real solution. Representatives of the International Woman’s Day March and the San Antonio Free Speech Coalition will hold a press conference at 9am tomorrow (Thursday, March 13) at City Hall (103 Main Plaza) to talk about why they’re still headed to court this October.
