Is Elsewhere Too a victim of its own success?
First, the far North Side beer garden and restaurant was forced to temporarily close for the two days following its highly anticipated grand opening so it could restock on food and drinks.
Now, the owners of the business — which features a 52-foot Ferris Wheel, a Victorian-style greenhouse and a flower tunnel on its Loop 1604 grounds — said they’re combating another problem: bad parenting.
In a Tuesday Instagram post, Elsewhere Too pleaded to parents to keep their kids from tearing up the place. Since the spot’s early-October debut, children have ripped apart its lights, thrown rocks, destroyed plants and even tossed items from the Ferris wheel, the post said.
“Parents are fully responsible for supervising their children at all times,” Elsewhere Too wrote. “If a child is seen damaging or disrupting the experience for others, your group will be asked to leave.”
As of press time, children are allowed at Elsehwere Too until 9 p.m.
“We’ve poured pur (sic) heart and soul into creating something truly magical for this community,” Elsewhere Too wrote. “Please respect it, protect it, and help us keep the magic alive for everyone.”
