Hollywood actress and South Texas native Eva Longoria will introduce U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico during the Democrat’s rally at San Antonio’s Club 1902 this Saturday.
Talarico’s stop at Club 1902 is the first of two planned for the Alamo City between now and Election Day as part of his “Clear Eyes, Full Heart” get-out-the-vote tour, according to campaign officials, who also confirmed Longoria’s participation. The other is planned for Nov. 1.
Saturday’s rally will run from 2:30-4 p.m. Free tickets are available on Talarico’s campaign website.
Longoria’s in-person appearance to stump for Talarico comes after the Desperate Housewives star first endorsed the candidate during a virtual Latinos con Talarico kickoff event last month.
“This election, sometimes people think it’s just about Washington, and it’s not,” Longoria said in a statement. “It’s about our Texan families, our neighborhoods, our businesses and our schools. And it’s about building a good life right here in Texas. None of that happens if we sit on the sidelines, and none of that happens if we don’t put James into office.”
Both Longoria and Talarico have San Antonio ties.
Corpus Christi-born Longoria lived here from 2005 until 2011 during her marriage to Spurs legend Tony Parker. She returned to the city in 2023, and has since split time between homes here and in Mexico.
Meanwhile, Talarico taught at Rhodes Middle School on San Antonio’s West Side from 2011 until 2013.
Early voting continues through Oct. 30. Polls will reopen on Election Day, Nov. 3.
