U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s daughter Caroline is going viral this week after making snarky faces during her dad’s victory speech on Tuesday.

Following the a commanding victory over Democrat challenger U.S. Rep. Colin Allred, the Texas Republican and his family took to the stage at his campaign watch party in Houston.

“I believe, and I hope and pray, that Donald Trump will be reelected as president of the United States,” Cruz said during the speech.

Although Cruz’s comments garnered loud cheers from the crowd, the smile of 16-year-old Caroline Cruz’s face quickly turned to a grimace once she heard the words “Donald Trump.”

The teenager then gave her mother a side eye and can be seen mouthing the words, “Don’t clap for that.”

Caroline Cruz’s reaction quickly went viral, racking up copious shares on both news and personal accounts on TikTok and X. One of the most-viewed versions, posted by TikTok user @_beingmaddy, has been viewed nearly 13 million times since being posted Wednesday.

“This is the best thing I’ve seen all week,” TikTok user @blairgilfillan commented.

“The face, the forced smile,” quipped @hater1226111. “I love her.”

It’s not the first time Caroline Cruz has gone against her father, however. In 2022, she grabbed headlines after posting a TikTok in which she publicly said she didn’t agree with her father’s political views or policies, according to Advocate.

“A lot of people judge me based upon him at first glance,” she said. “But I really disagree with most of his views.”
