Moviemakers are constantly on the lookout for distinctive locations that will make their films memorable. It’s a testament to the beauty of a home on Guadalupe River recently listed for sale that two separate filmmakers picked it as a shooting location.

Damian Chapa, who played Miklo Velka in the beloved cult film Blood In Blood Out, shot his forthcoming fantasy movie Born Into a Dream at the site, and Native American actress Destiny Soria also used it as a location for her upcoming indie feature The Box. Both are due out later this year.

It’s easy to see why they found the 3,600-square-foot New Braunfels home distinctive enough to be a shooting destination. It’s nestled along 80 feet of waterfront, and features an open floor plan with many windows looking out onto the water. A balcony and patio both overlook the river, as does a wooden gazebo equipped with nighttime lighting and S-hooks to support multiple hammocks.

The house’s exterior also boasts “a meticulously laid-out rock wall adorned with crystals, shells, and petrified wood with cascading steps leading to the majestic and flowing Guadalupe River,” the listing notes.

Both the wall and the forthcoming movie Born Into a Dream are dedicated to Richard Cedillo Sr., the late patriarch of the family who built the home, according to its listing agent. A colorful outdoor mural and a separate living room painting are by Cedillo’s artist and musician son Carlos.

This home is listed by Kristy Jonas with Watters International Realty.
