A five-minute video published by the San Antonio Express-News shows a police officer kicking a robbery suspect who was surrendering after leading authorities on a chase and bailing out of his vehicle in November 2014.

The man’s name is Luis Tinajero and he’s serving 15 years in prison for robbing a Citgo with a shotgun, according to the Express-News, which reported that Tinajero suffered three broken ribs, his front teeth were knocked out and he was shot in the back.

“I did what I did,” Tinajero told the paper. “I regret it. But I don’t think I deserved the full wrath of what they gave me.”

Officer Jonathan Reyes, who kicked Tinajero, was suspended for two days, the Express-News reported.
