Join Contemporary at Blue Star for a two-day symposium of events inspired by the current exhibition Xicanx: Dreamers + Changemakers | Soñadores + creadores del cambio. Day one of the symposium, happening on August 24, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., will include a print workshop with Andrea C. Izaguirre, exhibition tour, a cooking workshop with Jon Hinojosa, and a panel discussion exploring the use of “x” in Xicanx. Day two, on August 25, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., will include a zine workshop with Suzy Gonzalez, guided meditation with Ceiba ili, a cooking workshop with Jon Hinojosa and a master class with photographer Al Rendón. This program runs in conjunction with Xicanx month, a citywide celebration of Xicanx art and culture. This event is free and open to everyone, but registration is required for each event. Educators can receive up to 8 hours of CPE credits for this event.
