Bring your friends and family to see Matilda: The Musical at Wonder Theatre this Summer! Based on Roald Dahl’s novel, this is a story of a remarkably smart young girl who dares to dream big and helps those around her find their voices. Whether you’re a fan of the 90s film or you love the Netflix version, this production has a little bit of everything for everyone!
“The theme of the show is chosen family, and I want the message of the show to be: even if you’re little, you can do a lot,” says Director and Choreographer Alonzo Corona. “The show is also leaning more into the darker aspects of the story. Think Tim Burton directing Matilda.” Audiences can also expect to hear iconic numbers, including “When I Grow Up,” “Naughty,” “Revolting Children,” and “School Song.”

Later this summer, Wonder Theatre Academy will also be doing a production of Matilda JR., which will take place from August 1-6. The show features two brilliant youth casts with student performers from all over San Antonio. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased online on the Wonder Theatre website.
