The San Antonio Zoo will stop accepting all forms of cash payments starting this Friday.

The change is intended to enhance the guest experience with faster transactions, improved safety and greater convenience, zoo officials said Tuesday.

However, those itching to get rid of loose change can breathe easy knowing that the San Antonio Zoo will offer cash-to-card kiosks that let guests upload cash onto pre-paid Mastercards.

The park also will continue to offer four ATMs, officials noted, and it plans to add a fifth near the Congo Falls exhibit later this year.
