Austin-based brewpub chain Pinthouse Pizza is bringing its award-winning craft beers and artisanal pizzas to the Alamo City.

Pinthouse will make its local debut in Northwest San Antonio where Loop 1604 meets I-10, according to details shared with the Current by company officials. The new store is scheduled to open in early 2026.

“We’re beyond excited to bring Pinthouse to San Antonio!” the chain said in a Monday night Facebook post. “We can’t wait to serve y’all fresh pints and hot pizza. Keep your eyes peeled for more details soon!”
The family-friendly eatery will be located near Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the University of Texas at San Antonio and The Rim Shopping Center, officials said. It will span 8,000 square feet.

The food menu promises an unfussy approach, offering pretzels, shareables, salads and sandwiches in addition to its signature pies, according to Philipp Norsetter, Pinthouse’s vice president of culinary operations.

“Our menu is a celebration of timeless classics and bold ideas. We’re not here to reinvent the wheel, but to make it turn with a little more flavor and fun,” Norsetter said. “We’re a craft-first community, blending tradition and innovation to serve food and beer that’s unpretentious, approachable and full of character.”

Founded in 2012, Pinthouse Pizza is the largest brewpub chain in America by barrelage, according to company officials. Hop fiends can purchase the brand’s beer creations, including Electric Jellyfish IPA, at its restaurants, on store shelves and via taps at other establishments.

According to Pinthouse’s co-founders, the business has enjoyed positive wholesale numbers in San Antonio for years, suggesting the city would be a natural fit for a brewpub location. The business currently has three locations in Austin and one in Round Rock.

“We’ve been distributing beer in the San Antonio market for the last four years and really love the people, culture and overall vibe of the city,” Pinthouse President Tyler Norwood said. “We’re looking forward to becoming a part of the San Antonio indie beer and food scene.”
