San Antonio woman Veronica Vasquez caught the entire incident by accident while live-streaming her drive down Southwest Military Drive, according to the Express-News.
In the clip, which was taken around 8 p.m. Sunday, a motorcyclist traveling at a high rate of speed appears to blow through a red light at the intersection of Southwest Military Drive and Logwood Avenue, crashing into a grey Chevy pickup. A police report obtained by the daily states the motorcyclist “bounded off the truck” and struck a passing sedan.
The Current isn’t publishing the video showing the moment of impact out of respect for family of the 20-year-old cyclist.
The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the daily. Authorities haven’t publicly identified the deceased person, and the investigation is ongoing.
The collision was one of three deadly San Antonio crashes involving motorcyclists over the weekend.
A separate crash also happened on I-35 just hours after Sunday’s incident. In that incident, the unidentified rider lost control of his bike, the Express-News reports.
The day before, 20-year-old Nicholas Enez Galindo died after being ejected while allegedly racing another motorcycle in the 13500 block of Interstate 10 West, according to the daily.
