Fast-growing breakfast chain Another Broken Egg Cafe will open its first San Antonio restaurant in spring of next year, state regulatory filings show.
The company, which operates 100 stores nationwide, seven of them in Texas, will launch one of its casual daytime-only restaurants next spring at 11625 Bandera Road, Suite 105, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The address is inside the Bandera Pointe shopping center.
Construction on the 3,300-square-foot store is expected to begin next month and conclude in February, documents show. Work on the project is expected to cost $550,000.
Another Broken Egg officials were unavailable for immediate comment on the chain’s San Antonio plans.
However, the expansion appears to dovetail with the company’s 2024 announcement that it inked agreements with four new franchise groups to grow its footprint in Texas and three other states. The deals included commitments to open 13 new cafes over the next three to four years, officials said at the time.
Another Broken Egg restaurants feature menus focused on Southern-style breakfast, brunch and lunch items along with cocktails and mocktails from a full bar. The food offerings range from traditional breakfast fare, including healthier options, to indulgences such as crab cake Benedicts, shrimp and grits and apple fritter French toast.
The business started in 1996 with a single restaurant housed in a 100-year-old summer home on the shore of Louisiana’s Lake Pontchartrain, according to its website. The chain shifted headquarters to Orlando as they ramped up growth. After opening satellite locations, the venture expanded into franchising and now has locations across 17 states.
