San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich suffered a “mild stroke” on Nov. 2, the team revealed Wednesday after he missed nearly two weeks’ worth of games due to an undisclosed medical issue.

Popovich, 75, has started rehabilitation and is expected to make a full recovery, according to a statement from the team. He suffered the stroke at the Frost Bank Center ahead of the team’s 113-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, team officials also said.

Officials with the Silver and Black gave no timeline for Pop’s return to the sidelines. Since his stroke, assistant coach Mitch Johnson has been overseeing the team.

The Spurs asked that the community offer privacy and space for Popovich and his family.

Popovich took over as the Spurs’ head coach in 1996 after serving as the franchise’s president of basketball operations and general manager. He’s the longest-tenured active coach in the NBA and has a racked up more wins than any other coach in league history.
