Homegrown music-education nonprofit High Voltage Music is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a night of dancing, bingo, raffle prizes and a silent art auction.
The festivities will take place 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Cherrity Bar, 302 Montana St.
For the first two hours, attendees will be able to enjoy vinyl spins from DJ Strawberry Jams. Then the action will shift to Power Hour Bingo at Cherrity Bar’s pavilion, followed by another DJ set, this time with DJ ESPR providing the tunes. The event also will include a silent auction featuring gift baskets and work by local artists, including Karl Lubbering, Marcy McChesney, Nik Soupè, Christie Kaye, Zan Lee DuRoy and Eric Lozano.
Tickets are available for purchase online. Those who choose to donate more by purchasing the $50 or $25 ticket bundle also will receive raffle tickets and three guaranteed bingo pages.
High Voltage offers free music instruction to youth at underserved San Antonio schools. With recent cuts in arts funding, officials with the nonprofit said its work has grown even more important as it seeks to make music accessible to everyone.
