The chain that bills itself as “the filet mignon of chicken” will open 10 locations in San Antonio as part of a major expansion.
Central Florida-based Huey Magoo’s plans to set up 42 new franchise locations in Texas, Arizona and Virginia, CEO Andy Howard revealed this week. The push will take the fast-casual brand into a total of 15 states and give it 250 additional stores.
In addition to the 10 restaurants planned in San Antonio, Huey Magoo’s wants to open 10 more in the Rio Grande Valley and three in Laredo.
This year marked the company’s 20th anniversary.
“When we first started expanding outside of Florida, we had our eyes set on the Southeast, and to now be able to call ourselves a nationwide brand is extraordinary,” Howard said in an emailed statement.
Huey Magoo’s is known for its chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches and a variety of fresh salads.
The company hasn’t released opening dates or locations for its San Antonio and South Texas stores.
