This Friday, Con Huevos Tacos will be the latest Alamo City dining spot to be featured on celebrity chef Guy Fieri’s Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, the taqueria revealed via Instagram. Fieri filmed the episode roughly a year ago, according to the post.
“A very special thanks to some of our favorite customers for participating in filming that special day with us, we’re forever grateful,” Con Huevos Tacos wrote on Instagram.
The east-of-downtown taco spot’s moment of fame comes a week after San Antonio’s Ro-Ho Pork & Bread was also featured on Fieri’s show. About 20 Alamo City restaurants have appeared on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives since the series debuted in 2007.
Located at 1629 E. Houston Street, Con Huevos Tacos is known for a combination of “Northern Mexican and Tex-Mex traditions,” according to Texas Monthly Taco Editor José R. Ralat, who included the eatery on his Top 50 Tacos in Texas list.
The Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featuring Con Huevos will air at 8 p.m. local time on Friday.
